What to Expect at Your Visit
Welcome to the Urology Clinic, PC, Physicians & Surgeons
You've come to the right place, and we're so pleased that you have selected our clinic for your care. At The Urology Clinic, we don't just practice medicine, we strive to offer the most effective, least invasive treatments in a pleasant environment that is conducive to good health.
We are committed to excellence in patient care. We believe our care is dependent on your understanding of the diagnosis and treatment options for you and/or your family member. We make a special effort to explain your situation in a way that you can understand. If the information is not clear, please ask. We encourage your questions and strive to meet your needs.
Please complete all forms, including a signed copy of the attached "Credit Policy," and bring them with you to your first appointment. Please arrive 30 minutes early and be sure to bring your insurance card and government issued picture identification (e.g. driver's license) with you.
If you have a managed care health plan, remember to do the following prior to your visit:
- Contact your PCP to obtain a referral,
- Inform your PCP's office of your appointment date so that they can initiate a referral authorizing your insurance company to pay for the services to be rendered, and
- Contact your insurance company to assure that the visit has been authorized.
Finally, it is your responsibility to make sure an authorization for services is in place. If one is not in place, you may be asked to pay for your visit at the time of service or your visit may be rescheduled.
Should you have any further questions prior to your visit, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to serving you.
After seeing your doctor, you may require lab tests or other diagnostic tests. Due to insurance restrictions, your primary care doctor and insurance carrier often must approve these before they can be ordered.
We will try to contact you with the results of your tests once they have been completed and returned to us. If you have not heard from us within 10 days, please call our office.
Please call your pharmacy before you run out of your medication. The pharmacy usually requires 48 hours notice for a prescription refill, therefore Friday afternoon is generally not a good time to call for refills. We will only refill medications that have been prescribed by one of our physicians. We will not refill narcotic pain medication after office hours. Refill requests for patients who have not been seen for more than one year will not be filled.
For billing questions call (503) 284-3922. As a courtesy to you, we bill major primary and secondary insurances. The credit policy you receive as a new patient gives you detailed information about our billing policies.
Office visits are by appointment and often require a referral by your primary care physician.
Cancellations: If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call the clinic at least 24 hours in advance of cancellation. We will call you two days before your appointment to remind you of your visit and to leave any necessary instructions. It is important that you provide us with a daytime telephone number so that we can reach you. Since our physicians are surgeons, occasionally an appointment may need to be changed due to an emergency. We will try to give you as much notice as possible should this occur.
Clinic Office Hours
8:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The clinic is closed on weekends and major holidays.
Calling the Office
Our staff can be reached Monday through Friday by calling the main office number of the clinic where you receive your care. When you call, you will speak to a receptionist who will help to answer your questions. If your question is of a clinical nature, the receptionist will take a message and have the nurse or doctor return your call. Calls are generally returned within two to four hours.
If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If your call is urgent, please let the receptionist know this when your call is answered. If the clinic is closed and you call after-hours, the answering service will take your message and put you in touch with the provider on call for that day.
